Is Wildly Rooted a good fit for your child?

If you are considering our school year program, we kindly ask that you read through the following information to ensure we are a good fit for your child:

*Outdoor-first approach: We spend a large portion of each day outdoors, in all seasons. Rain, cold, or sunshine children are encourage to explore, play, and learn in our natural play area. Hiking can be a regular part of our routine depending on the season. We will utilize indoor space at the church only during severe weather or intense cold during the winter months.

*Independence & responsibility: We encourage school-age children to take responsibility for their own bodies. Children may choose to wear coats or hats or simply a hoodie depending on how they feel. It is important that children are capable of putting on and taking off their outdoor gear independently.

*Freedom of choice & free play: Children are given plenty of freedom to chose how they play and engage with their surroundings. Free play in nature is a core part of our program and supports creativity, problem-solving and confidence.

*Managed risk & real experiences: Our activities may include using tools, stick play, lighting campfires, fishing/casting and participating in age-appropriate risks such as climbing trees. All activities are carefully supervised and risk-assessed, but we believe these experiences are essential for learning and growth.

*Our program focuses on independence, outdoor activity, freedom of choice, and responsibility. If this approach aligns with your family’s values, we would love to welcome your child for a school year full of adventure, learning and growth.
